Effect of Marijuana Abuse

Marijuana Addiction, Quick Way To Get Rid Of Excess Weight?

People with marijuana addiction have a new way of enjoying it. Marijuana diet is now gaining popularity among users.

Although marijuana is linked to weight gain, certain strains, including Super Silver Haze and G13 with generous levels of THCV can actually help you shed that excess weight. A research at the San Diego State University found that marijuana can do a lot to lessen your cravings for food, contributing to faster weight reduction.

Researchers believe that marijuana addiction can alter certain behavior such as increasing one’s physical mobility and movement. In simpler terms, people who smoke marijuana regularly are more active than those who don’t.

Another explanation is rooted in the observation that people smoking marijuana tend not to drink alcohol excessively. Everyone knows that alcohol contains a lot of calories that adds to the bulk of daily calories.

States that approved medical marijuana have lesser number of obese people. Studies have shown that these states have 2 to 6 percent obese cases than those states that ban medical marijuana.

The Marijuana Diet:

A book called The Marijuana Diet says that cannabis abuse increases one’s metabolism. People claimed that they have shed off 20 to 100 pounds after regularly smoking pots.

The Marijuana Diet, according to author Art Glass, delivers several benefits, including: detoxifying the body; losing weight; get rid of aches and pains; distressing one’s life; having more enjoyment; and attaining a sense of well-being.

Glass says that marijuana diet can lead to eating in moderation; drinking lots of water; eating green vegetables; and keeping processed foods at bay. The author recommends user not to puff more than three hits to prevent munchies from interfering with losing weight. Glass also pointed out the importance of exercise with marijuana diet.

New Studies Supporting Marijuana Diet:

Another study from the University of Nebraska, the Harvard School of Public Health and Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center claimed that marijuana users have smaller waists and have higher levels of good cholesterol than pot smokers. Researchers are not sure how marijuana can deliver these benefits, but they said that pot is a good blood sugar regulator and aids to speed up metabolism.

The American Journal of Medicine reports has shown that smoking marijuana is a key to a better metabolic health.  Their study showed that participants who smoked marijuana had lower waist circumference and had higher levels of good cholesterol.

Risks of Marijuana Diet:

The risks involved with marijuana diet is an increase in the number of marijuana addiction cases. Those who are not smoking pot may agree to use it now for the sake of reducing weight. Those who are already smoking it are exposed to a higher risk of dependence to cannabis
